Nestled in the junction of Old Lincoln and Herbert Hoover Highways the historic Lincoln Hotel B&B is one of the area’s premiere bed and breakfast inns. Originally built in 1915, it once served to accommodate workers and travelers on the Pacific and Northwestern Railroads and the original Lincoln Highway. The hotel has been meticulously restored and maintained. The 3600 square foot hotel features all the original woodwork, including a beautifully refinished staircase in the front lobby, the original front porch with hanging swing, all new electrical, plumbing, and hot water registers. The 4 beautifully decorated guest rooms each have a private en-suite bath, cable TV and air conditioning. The innkeepers were presented the Best Restoration Award in Iowa from then Governor Branstead and the hotel was featured on the popular Public Television show “Living in Iowa” in 1996. The building is on both the Iowa and National Historic Registries. For more information please visit our website at www.lincolnhoteliowa.com. Business Description: The inn opened in 1996 and served as apartment housing for 5 years. In 2001 the owners began converting it to a bed and breakfast. The inn has an established repeat customer business of both leisure and corporate guests. The hotel has been approved by and is a member of the Iowa Bed and Breakfast Innkeepers Association. The business is still growing. In the summer of 2005 the fourth room was added. The Lincoln Hotel is offered as a turn-key operation, which includes furnishings and equipment (with the exception of the owner’s personal items), business name and logo, website and domain name, prepaid advertising, telephone numbers (local and toll free), guest list, local phone line, MasterCard and Visa payment arrangements, dishes, linens and amenities. Training for new owners is available.
