Welcome
to Engel's Lakeside Bed and Breakfast - nestled among oak trees
on land that was once the summer camp ground of the Woodland
Indians. Ever-changing, this Iowa Great Lakes region
is noted for a traditional four-season climate, breathtaking beauty
and abundance of activities
and events.
Built in 1900 by Louis Stoltenberg, overlooking Silver Lake, it
was purchased in 1938 by John Engel, Sr. and has remained in the
family. Over the past five years John Engel, Jr. and his wife
Sharlene have restored the home and filled it with period
antiques. The couple welcomes you to take pleasure in the quiet
surroundings.
Accommodations
include a full
breakfast, served in the Inn's dining room or on
the front porch overlooking the lake. Guests enjoy
a variety of menus prepared by Sharlene.
