The Gallery Studio

Carriage-Barn Studio
The Carriage-Barn Studio is a restored carriage-barn, the oldest in the state of Iowa. The east wall of the barn displays an Iowa Barn Quilt titled "The Flower of Life." This barn quilt will be featured among a total of five Fort Madison Barn Quilts. The remaining four barn quilts were designed and painted by the art students at Holy Trinity Schools and was hung in the Summer of 2009. The lower level contains a painters studio and woodworking shop that also serves as a studio for very large mural campuses. The barn stable contains original wood walls, floors, ceilings. The original manger has been converted to a bar sink. The tack room adjacent to the stable is now a full bath. This unique large works studio is featured each year during the Southeast Iowa Artists Studio Tours in October.
