Metcalf House is in the heart of the old town district, yet is only 1 block from parks and the 3,000 acre lake, 4 blocks from downtown, and 4 blocks from the Buena Vista University. The home has been lovingly decorated to reflect the charm and warmth of the Victorian era, and includes stained and leaded glass windows, original oak woodwork, delft tile fireplace with ornate mantel, patterned floors and period antiques.
A grand Victorian home offers spaces for the activities of any time of the year. The basement game room is open year-round. In warmer months, you are encouraged to engage in the lost art of porch sitting. In colder months enjoy the warmth of the fireplace as you read, visit or simply watch the logs spark and blaze.
In 2006 a new bridal/anniversary suite was added and it includes a living
room,
bedroom, bathroom with a whirlpool tub and a small eating
area with air conditioning and pellet stove. They also now have a massage room
and a gazebo. Plus, weddings can be performed at the inn.
