The
property now owned by Cal and Kim Dickson was homesteaded
by J. G. Linden in 1871. His first
home was built on the corner of 14th and Main
Avenue in Clear Lake in 1873. Additions to the original
home were added in 1876 and 1879. Many of the original
features of the house still exist, including the ornate
woodwork, petticoat mirror, fireplace with hearthstone
featuring a seamstress and cat, and large beveled windows.
Beveled windows span 11’ along the living room wall.

The
original construction of the home (shown on the left in
the top picture) was
split off in the mid 1900’s and is now located across the
street at 1312 1st
Avenue South.
A
new carriage house addition was b uilt
by Kim’s father during the fall and winter of 2002.
In early 2005 it was decided to use the top portion of the
carriage house as a bed and breakfast. After
numerous hours of planning and decorating by Kim and her
mother and sister, the first customers were greeted during the
summer of 2005.
We
look forward to serving you as your next bed and
breakfast!
