* Deer Run Park, Iowa 13, east of Elkader. Rental lodge, camper park and two-acre lake. Near city swimming pool and Turkey River. Call 563/245-3337.

* Turkey River Park on south edge of Elkader city limits on Iowa 13 offers camping and picnic facilities and fishing.

* Elkader Recreation Park has picnic tables, shelter houses, new swimming pool and camping area. Area has comfort station and shower facilities, ball diamond and tennis courts.

* Osborne Conservation Education Center, six miles south of Elkader on Iowa 13, 260 acres, is divided by the Volga River. Picnic areas, nature trails, fishing and limited camping available. Approximately 25,000 coniferous trees are planted, many in display plantings. A visitor center is open seven days per week and has many environmental displays. Live animal exhibits include buffalo, elk, deer, pheasants, peacocks, wild turkey, duck and geese.

* Pony Hollow Trail. Limestone trail, three miles along the Turkey River. Hike, bike and bridle trail.

Our Suites

Suite 2 ~ Come and enjoy the atmosphere of our first floor guest suite!  This suite has a feeling of nature’s peace and serenity. The remodeling of this suite took care in using green building, earth friendly products. From the insulation to the flooring, we made an effort to use renewable and recycled products, as well as healthier finishes. When available, the snacks provided are organic or CSA (community supported agriculture) products. 

 This suite is a great get-away for one or two people. Though, a queen size sleeper sofa and futon are in this three room suite also. The amenities are simple but providing. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, full size stove, sink and dishware.  The garden room has reading materials. Central air is available for use.

Suite 3 offers a great place for families to stay as well as individuals and couples!  There are two bedrooms (queen and double beds) and a sofa bed in the living room. A full kitchen, bathroom and satellite television are included. Relax and enjoy family time with games and cards.
   1-4 people $100 first night; additional consecutive nights are $80 per night
   5-6 people add $10 per person.
